French Podcastでフランス語を学ぶ
French Podcastとは？
French Podcastは、インターネットのウェブサイトで、毎週、フランス語の初級、中級、上級者向けのPodcastを提供しています。

年間12ユーロで登録すると、MP3オーディオとフランス語、英語のトランスクリプトをダウンロードすることができます。トランスクリプトを見ながら、オーディオを聴くと、フランス語のリスニング力が大幅にアップするものと期待されます。
このPodcastは、スマホのアプリ（SoundCloud）でも聴くことができます。
私はまだ今朝登録したばかりなので、効果のほどは分かりませんが、英語とフランス語のトランスクリプトがついているので、辞書がなくてもフランス語の会話がよく分かり、いままで分かりにくかったネイティブのフランス語会話がよくわかるようになりました。

参考までに、「Un Voyage à paris」という上級者向けのPodcastの一部を、オーディオとトランスクリプトつきで例示しておきたいと思います。

Colette: et je n'avais pas pensé à réserver une chambre, je me suis dit " oh, je trouverai bien quelque chose " alors, je suis sortie à 6h du soir, c'était au mois d'octobre, il faisait nuit et je vois une grande place devant le lycée et je me dis " mais qu'est-ce que je vais faire ? " " où je vais aller ? "
Martine: C'était dans quel quartier ?
Colette: C'était,écoute, je ne sais plus, c'était un grand lycée Parisien
Martine: Hm, hm
Colette: Et donc, je vois une grande place, je vois une petite lumière, tu sais, ça fait un peu 'Biblique', et je me dis " tiens, là-bas il y a peut-être une église et peut-être que le curé, il aura une idée où je peux loger parce que trouver une chambre à Paris
Colette: Ce n'est pas évident. Alors, je vais là-bas, je sonne, il y a une petite dame, elle me dit " ouais ". Je dis " bonjour, est-ce que vous sauriez où je peux trouver une chambre ? "
Elle me dit " ah oui ", parce qu'elle était sympa, elle a fait les questions et les réponses
Martine: Quelle idée !

Colette: and I hadn't thought about reserving a room, I said to myself : 'oh, I'll find something' so I came out at 6pm in the evening, in was in (the month of) October*, it was dark and I see a big square in front of the high school and I say to myself 'what am I going to do ? Where am I going to go ?'
Martine: which area (quartier**) of Paris was it in ?
Colette: Listen, I can't remember it was a major Paris high school
Martine: Hm, hm
Colette: and so, I see a big square, I see a little light, you know it was kind of biblical ! And I said to myself 'over there, there might be a church and maybe the priest will have an idea about where I can stay because finding a room in Paris is...
Colette: It's not easy ! So, I go over there, I ring (the bell) there was a lady, she says to me 'yes' ! I said 'hello, do you know per chance where I could find a room ?' she said 'oh yes' because she was very nice, she was doing all the talking (she was asking the questions and giving the answers)
Martine: the idea of it !
*for some reason, the French say 'au mois d'octobre' (using in the month of October)

サウンド編集ソフトの活用
French Podcastは、1回あたり2〜3分の長さです。これを通して聴くよりも、3つくらいの部分に分けてMP3ファイルとして保存し、上のようなオーディオプレーヤーで再生し、トランスクリプトと訳文をつけると、学習はより効率的に進められるのではないかと思います。
そのために、音声ファイルを任意の位置で分割し、保存できるソフトがあると便利です。私がもっていたのは、ビデオ編集ソフトでしたが、いずれも音声だけをうまくトリミングができませんでした。そこでいろいろと調べた結果、WavePadというサウンド編集ソフトがよさそうだということがわかりました。Windows用とMac用があり、どちらも無料でダウンロードできます。ただし、しばらく使っていると、有料の製品へのアップグレードを請求されます。約4000円とられますが、気に入ったら購入するといいでしょう。

ソフトをインストールして、起動し、音声ファイルを開くと、次のような画面が表示されます。
再生ボタンを押して音声を再生し、分割したい位置まで来たら停止ボタンを押し、編集メニューの中から「分割」ボタンをタップすると、その部分で音声ファイルが分割されます。保存したい部分のファイルを名前をつけて保存すれば、特定部分の音声だけを切り出して活用することができます。
このようにして、長時間の音声ファイルでも、これを好きな数だけ分割して別々のファイルとして保存できるので、リスニング用のMP3オーディオファイルが簡単にできます。これをWordPressのメディア追加機能やプラグインを使ってオーディオプレイヤーとして表示させて、リスニングの練習用に活用することができます。ただし、音声に著作権がある場合は、非公開のサイトにしておく必要はありますが、、、。
外国語のリスニング練習は、ネイティブによる生きた会話を、トランスクリプトを見ながら短い時間に区切って、繰り返し聴くのがもっとも有効だと思います。これから、私のフランス語リスニング力がどう向上するのか、楽しみです。
たくさんある French Podcast : どれを選ぶか？
インターネットで"French Podcast"と検索してみると、実にたくさんのPodcastがヒットします。それらを詳しくチェックしてみましたが、これはというサイトはほとんどが月額数十ドル以上の課金をとっているようです。このブログで紹介したpodcastは、クオリティに関してはまだ未知数のところもありますが、料金は月額2ドル程度ですから、桁違いに安いともいえます。取り上げるテーマは、いずれも興味深く、現代フランスに即したもので、普通の語学練習用のPodcastとはひと味違います。
この他で、登録してもいいかなと思ったのは、FrenchPod101.comというPodcastです。ここは、初めての利用者は1ドルで大部分のサービスにアクセスできます。有料プログラムも、ベーシックコースが月額4ドルなのでリーズナブルといえるかもしれません。これからじっくり比較検討して、最良のpodcastを見つけたいと思っています。
